The First ascent of Broad Peak 8.047m in 1957 by the Austrian OEAV Karakoram Expedition with Hermann Buhl, Kurt Diemberger, Marcus Schmuck and Fritz Wintersteller is a landmark achievement in the history of mountaineering.
